Arrival & Departure
Events will begin the evening of 14 July. The final festival event will be on the evening of 24 July; this is also the last night of accommodation. Check-out for everyone is during morning hours on Sunday, 25 July. Participants should compare costs of arriving in various regional airports; recommended are Milan Malpensa or Linate, in addition to Zurich, Switzerland. Regardless of which airport you choose, you will need to take a train to arrive in Maccagno (on Lago Maggiore, just south of Swiss border). Complete travel instructions will be sent in May to all attending participants.
Sight Seeing
Sunday, 18 July is set aside for tourism; participants are encouraged to plan ahead for what places to visit. Maccagno’s proximity to Milan, and the ski resort areas of the French/Swiss Alps offers plenty to suit both the outdoor enthusiast as well as those interested in urban shopping and cuisine.
Honing Your Craft
Practice facilities with pianos are available throughout the day and into early evening hours. Composers are encouraged to bring a laptop (Finale/Sibelius software). Each participant will receive a minimum of two private lessons (and/or master classes) during the festival period.
