composer in residence fellowship
soundSCAPE is now accepting proposals for a composer in residence for the 2010 summer season. Interested composers must meet all of the following criteria:
• hold a PhD or DMA in composition; granted between 2000 and June of 2010
(individuals with a terminal degree in areas other than composition may be
considered; please send inquiries to the email below)
• evidence of activity as a composer (commissions, performances, etc.)
POSITION DETAILS:
• compose one work for faculty ensemble (piano, soprano, & percussion)
• additional performances of other compositions possible
• mentoring composer participants at festival (lessons, master classes)
• one or more lectures
• opportunities to perform (if applicable)
• soundSCAPE provides round trip travel (airfare/train), accommodation, meals
DATES:
• 31 March | application deadline
• 20 April | notification of fellowship recipient
• 31 May | piece for faculty ensemble submitted
• 14-25 July | festival dates
TO APPLY: submit the following materials by email
• ONE work of any instrumentation/length (pdf), for evaluation only
• include a midi or mp3 sound file of the piece
• a proposal detailing your ideas/contributions for the festival (pdf)
• CV and list of works composed (pdf)
