Jeremy Keaton
Festival Director
Jeremy Keaton is a composer, performer, and arts administrator based in Baltimore, Maryland. He graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County (UMBC) with a Bachelor’s in Music Composition in 2020. Currently, he is the concert coordinator for the Department of Music at UMBC where he oversees the logistics of the department’s concert series. He has served as the Festival Director of soundSCAPE festival since 2025.
As a composer, he specializes primarily in chamber music and his music has been performed by a variety of professional ensembles, including the resident artist ensemble at the Atlantic Music Festival and The Strata trio. The UMBC Chamber Players have programmed his pieces Not All Who Wander, for string quartet, and Degrees of Freedom, for trumpet, violin, and cello. An alum of the interdisciplinary Linehan Artist Scholars program at UMBC, he has collaborated with members of the UMBC dance department as a composer and performer. He co-composed The Next Phrase, a dance score for Emily Godfrey’s capstone work terminal, with Christian Hartman. The piece was presented at the American College Dance Association Mid-Atlantic North Conference at the University of Maryland, College Park in March. His electronic work U.A.F was used in choreography by his twin sister Joni as part of her dance capstone project at the University of Oklahoma.
